Land at Phuket International after a one-stop connection through Bangkok, and transfer forty-five minutes south to Patong or Karon. The rest of the afternoon is free for the beach. Bangla Road wakes up after eight, and the Jungceylon mall next to it is the easiest place for a first Thai meal.

An early speedboat out of Chalong pier for the Phi Phi group — Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave and a snorkelling stop at Bamboo Island. Lunch is a buffet on Phi Phi Don. Maya Bay is now a no-anchor, no-swim conservation zone, so you land at the rear pontoon and walk in, which is quieter than the old boat crush.

Longtail into Phang Nga Bay, canoeing under the Hong island sea arches and a stop at Ko Tapu, the limestone needle from The Man with the Golden Gun. On the way back you climb to the 45-metre Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill for the view over Chalong Bay, and finish at Wat Chalong, Phuket's principal temple.

A private car takes you the three hours east to Ao Nang, crossing the Sarasin bridge off Phuket island. Check in and spend the afternoon on the beach or take the ten-minute longtail to Railay West, which is cut off by cliffs and reachable only by boat. Ao Nang's beach road is lined with seafood grills that price by the kilo.

The classic four-island run: Poda, Chicken Island, Tup and Phra Nang cave beach, with the Talay Waek sandbar walkable between islands at low tide. Lunch is served on the beach. Back by four, which leaves the evening free for the Ao Nang night market or a Thai massage on the beach road.

Indian passport holders enter visa-free for stays up to 60 days under the arrangement in force at the time of writing. You still have to file the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours of travel, which we do for you. We re-confirm the rule at the time of booking.
From late May to early October the Andaman side can be choppy and the marine department occasionally suspends speedboat departures. Those months are the cheapest for a reason. If a boat day is cancelled for weather, the operator refunds the tour cost in full — we pass that straight back to you.
It saves a three-hour drive back on your last morning and usually costs the same or less. Krabi International connects to Bangkok about eight times a day, so the onward connection is easy.
