The five kinds of visa, and what each one really means

The type decides how much of your time the visa costs — not just how much money. Read this before you pick your dates.

  • e-Visa

    Applied for online. You upload documents, pay the fee, and the approval arrives by email — you print it and carry it. No embassy visit, no passport submission.

  • On arrival

    Issued at the destination airport on landing. Cheap and simple, but the queue is real and the officer can still refuse entry — carry every supporting document.

  • Sticker visa

    A physical sticker pasted into your passport. The passport is submitted to a visa centre and returned — so plan around the days it is out of your hands.

  • Embassy visa

    Filed at the embassy or its appointed visa centre, sometimes with an appointment and biometrics. The slowest route, and the one where document quality matters most.

  • Visa free

    No visa needed for an Indian passport for a stay of this length. You still need a valid passport, a return ticket and proof of funds at immigration.

Holidays, visiting family, sightseeing. This is the visa Dreamvaca files unless you tell us otherwise. It does not permit paid work of any kind.

Meetings, conferences, trade fairs, site visits. Needs an invitation letter from the host company and a covering letter from your employer. Fees and processing times differ from the tourist route.

Questions worth asking before you pay anyone

Is the fee shown the final amount?

It is indicative. Government visa fees move with exchange rates and with policy changes announced without notice, and some consulates levy an additional biometric or courier charge. Dreamvaca confirms the exact payable amount in writing before we file, and you approve it before any money moves.

Does Dreamvaca guarantee the visa?

No, and nobody honestly can. The decision belongs to the consulate or the immigration officer alone. What we guarantee is that your file is complete, correctly formatted and filed on time — which is the part that is actually within anyone’s control.

How early should I apply?

Add at least a week to the processing time shown, and two weeks in the May–June and October–December peaks when consulates are at their busiest. Processing days are working days and exclude the destination’s public holidays.

What if my visa is refused?

Government fees are non-refundable in every jurisdiction we file in — that money is gone the moment the application is lodged. Dreamvaca’s own service portion is refunded if the refusal follows an error we made in the filing.
